We were able to visit Abelina both Sunday afternoon and this morning at the hospital. She has been successfully breathing on her own since Thanksgiving Day. This means she is off the ventilator all together and feeling more relaxed. In the past when she was off the ventilator she always seemed distressed. Now, she seems to be more concerned with communicating! She always has something to say, so we get out the whiteboard and start the process. It can be anything from I love you, to can you pull up my sheet.
Also, the ICU has put in a request for to move to a solitary room. Which is good and bad! It means she is improving, but also means she will not have the two nurses to one patient ratio. The nurse that I spoke with on Friday did not seem to have any information on the removal of the jaw wiring, but it seems like it can be anytime. Also, the nurse today mentioned, that if Abelina keeps progressing at the rate she is, that she might be able to come home for Christmas. Abelina heard the nurse say this and she got a huge, amorous smile on her face.
Both Sunday and Monday I had the opportunity to read to Abelina. I read her parts of The Secret (Thanks Mary Serafini) and she listened intently. I even had her close her eyes and think of positive thoughts to replace any negative thoughts. For example, thinking about the love she has for her children, being back in Mexico, sitting on the beach in Maui and all the support and prayers of those who love her. She concentrated on each thought with great intent. Then I read her parts of 90 Minutes in Heaven and gave her a brief synopsis on the story, it was very motivating.

I don't know anyone in or connected to the family & no one knows me. But I occasionally check the blog to see how Abelina is progressing. I do recall her from when my son was attending Pleasant Valley school.
There is a woman named Kelly Howell who has a web site, called Brain Sync.

There are 2 recordings that offer the potential of yielding significant benefits for Abelina on all levels. Maybe others but I have experience with these 2.
One is called "The Secret" & I don't know about the book, and anyone can make their own judgement, but this recording is nothing short of amazing, as is Kelly Howell.
"The Secret" is unique in that it's designed to be listened to when falling asleep and works on a subconscious level.
The other recording is a 2 disc recording titled "Mind Body Healing".
"The Secret" can be downloaded as an MP3 file, then made into a CD. The other one can't be downloaded as a set, but each recording of the set can be purchased seperately & downloaded as MP3. ($10.00 each).
I'll just say that I've been meditating for 30 years & I have never had the results that I'm experiencing from listening to Kelly Howell's recordings. I began experiencing results from my first listening.
