As of yesterday we were informed by Abelina physician that her condition is similar to that of Christopher Reeves. Although Christopher Reeves had the luxury of affording to have at home care, which includes a ventalator for breathing as well as a 24 hour nurse and a once a week Doctors visit. Which is out of reach for most people. That being said Abelina is not most people. So on that note, could we continue to raise funds to support her medical needs. As it stands, she will spend the remainder of her life in a hoapital and or a convalescent facility. She will most likely never be removed from her hospital bed, unless more funds are raised.
So on behalf of the family, please reach into your pocket books to help our beautiful Abelina.
Help the kids spend quality time with their mother by helping her come home!
Also, if you would like to help the family. A trust fund for the Magana family has been established by Frank Howard Allen Realtors at the Bank of Marin, 1450 Grant Ave., Novato 94945. Donations can also be made at any Bank of Marin branch, and checks should be made out to the Magana Family Fund.

HOW TO DONATE:
Donations to help Abelina and her children can be made to the following:
-Tax deductible donations can be made at http://www.ntafund.org/ by entering "Abelina Magana" in the patient's name section on the home page. NTAF will accept checks and credit card donations on Abelina's behalf. Again, donations to NTAF are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
All donations will be used for in-home care, a wheel chair accessible van and home modifications.
Abelina is currently going through intense rehabiliation and living independently with the help of her 3 children. But they need more help.
Due to the horrific event on October 12th 2007, that changed the Magana family and friends forever. Abelina is now a quagraplegic with a severing of the spinal cord at her C-5 vertebrae. We were all told from the beginning that the odds were against her. If she survived there would be a 50/50 chance that she would not be around that first Christmas. We were told, if she lived that she would most likely live the remainder of her life in a hospital connected to a ventillator in a hospital bed. Now by the grace of God and Abelina's determination to live for her three babies, not only does she breathe on her own, she has movement in her right and left arm. She continues to defy medicine and like her current doctor, Dr. Ng said, "the hospital is learning from her, not the other way around."
Abelina is determined to make a difference and she will. However, due to her signigicant injuries as a quadraplegic and the enormous amount of daily assistance she requires, she is struggling financially. In addition, her kids are struggling emotionally and physically to keep up with her daily needs.

We wanted to ask our friends to pray for our friends son Joey Kelly who is 10 years old and facing his second bout of cancer. As if they had not been through enough when he was five and diagnosed it is back! We pray for his strength, health and peace of mind.
