HOW TO DONATE:
Donations to help Abelina and her children can be made to the following:
-Tax deductible donations can be made at http://www.ntafund.org/ by entering "Abelina Magana" in the patient's name section on the home page. NTAF will accept checks and credit card donations on Abelina's behalf. Again, donations to NTAF are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
All donations will be used for in-home care, a wheel chair accessible van and home modifications.
Abelina is currently going through intense rehabiliation and living independently with the help of her 3 children. But they need more help.
Due to the horrific event on October 12th 2007, that changed the Magana family and friends forever. Abelina is now a quagraplegic with a severing of the spinal cord at her C-5 vertebrae. We were all told from the beginning that the odds were against her. If she survived there would be a 50/50 chance that she would not be around that first Christmas. We were told, if she lived that she would most likely live the remainder of her life in a hospital connected to a ventillator in a hospital bed. Now by the grace of God and Abelina's determination to live for her three babies, not only does she breathe on her own, she has movement in her right and left arm. She continues to defy medicine and like her current doctor, Dr. Ng said, "the hospital is learning from her, not the other way around."
Abelina is determined to make a difference and she will. However, due to her signigicant injuries as a quadraplegic and the enormous amount of daily assistance she requires, she is struggling financially. In addition, her kids are struggling emotionally and physically to keep up with her daily needs.

We wanted to ask our friends to pray for our friends son Joey Kelly who is 10 years old and facing his second bout of cancer. As if they had not been through enough when he was five and diagnosed it is back! We pray for his strength, health and peace of mind.

I just wanted to say that I am soooo proud of you Abelina. I have kept you in my prayers and was so happy to see photos of you outside getting to enjoy life again. I have started my new job at Barclays Global Investors in San Francisco and things are going very well other than adjusting to a very long day and less time with my girls.
I'm sorry to hear that you will be leaving us but I'm very happy that your family will all be together again and your kids will be close. I hope that we will continue to get occasional updates and photos here as your strength and beauty are always so inspiring.
Anyway, since I never seem to have time to log onto the computer anymore outside of work, I wanted to make sure I got a chance to send you my best for your upcoming trip and to thank you once again for everything you did for me and my girls years ago.

Wow!! Abelina, watching your progress over the months has been seeing a miracle unfold right before our eyes! From your original prognosis of never leaving your hospital bed to seeing you out in Diana's yard amongst so many people that love you (as well as the telepathic good wishes from those of us who couldn't be there), you have been the most amazingly inspirational person I've ever known!
We wish you and your beautiful children happiness and continued healing in your new home in Arizona!
